37 Films to screen at two-day film festival
10 Georgia filmmakers screen work on opening night
The 2nd Annual Dixie Film Festival hits the silver screen in Atlanta this October 14 & 15
showcasing independent filmmakers from around the world in a weekend run of almost forty films.
With over a half a dozen films making their World Premiere the festival culminates with a finale of ten of
the best comedic films presented to the festival. Along with over a dozen awards issued to various films
in the "Best of" categories including a "Mason-Dixon" Award for most promising Georgia filmmaker.
Most notable is a film making its Southern Premiere--Emmy Award winning Director, Arthur Seidelman's "THE SISTERS" starring Maria Bello, Eric McCormack, Mary Stuart Masterson and
Chris O' Donnell. The film based on an adaption of the Chekhov play"The Three Sisters" will be showing in a limited screening on Friday night October 14 @ 9pm with a Q&A to follow.
The film is nominated for three awards including Oustanding Actress in a film for Maria Bello and Oustanding
Actor
for Eric McCormack.
Fighting Amish Entertainment and Laughing Gas Productions will be hosting the festival for its second year and
will be opening the festivities with a live band and presenting a taste of some of Atlanta's hottest improv comedy teams.

All films will screen at Atlanta's own Cinefest Film Theatre located in the University Center on the main
