Southern Premiere

Seidelman to present his new film "The Sisters"

The 2nd Annual Dixie Film Festival will play host to the Southern Premiere of Arthur Allan Seidelman's new project The Sisters on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 9:00pm
at CiNEFEST FiLM Theatre located in the University Center on the main campus of Georgia State University.

The Sisters, written by Richard Alfieri from his play and based on the "The Three Sisters" by Chekov, also stars such notables as Rip Torn, Erika Christensen,
Tony Goldwyn, Alessandro Nivola, and Mary Stuart Masterson.

Mr. Seidelman will be introducing his film at 9pm and following the screening with a Q&A.

Seidelman is best known for his Directorial work on such TV classics as Hill Street Blues,
Magnum P.I., L.A. Law, Fame,
and Murder She Wrote. Also Seidelman's most recent project
A Christmas Carol, starring Kelsey Grammer, and shot in Budapest, Hungary, won at the
2005 Emmy Awards for Oustanding Music Direction.

Since completing The Sisters, the film has screened at Tribeca, Sedona, & The Phoenix Film Society garnering two awards and becoming Official Selections to screen at another four festival later this year.

According to Seidelman and Persistent Entertainment (the production company involved in the project) there are currently five distribution offers on the table including negotiation for a theatrical release in 2006.

Mr. Seidelman is now in pre-production for his next feature In The Shadow of Wings starring Virginia Madsen and Tim Roth and will be shooting in Kenya and South Africa later this year.

The Sisters nominated for three awards including Best Film, Oustanding Actress in a
film for Maria Bello and Oustanding Actor for Eric McCormack will follow the Mason-Dixon Screenings showcasing ten films from Atlanta-based filmmakers on Friday night..

Fighting Amish Entertainment and Laughing Gas Productions will be hosting the festival for its second year and will be opening the festivities with a live band and presenting a taste of some of Atlanta's hottest improv comedy teams.

With over a half a dozen films making their World Premiere the festival culminates with a finale of ten of
the best comedic films presented to the festival. Along with over a dozen awards issued to various films
in the "Best of" categories including a "Mason-Dixon" Award for most promising Georgia filmmaker.
