William Shakespeare’s greatest soliloquy performed word for word. If an actor’s worst nightmare is to suddenly be naked on stage, then the second most dreaded scenario would surely be...this! While the groundlings in the pit would no doubt have approved, we hope the Bard’s tongue rolled over in his grave, coming to rest firmly in his cheek.

Writer:
David Mulligan
2005/23min./Color
Comedy/Short
This film was inspired by and based on the experiences of Josiah D. Lee, an Asian actor who came to Hollywood with dreams of stardom. What he found was that he was consistently relegated to role after stereotypical role: the Chinese food delivery boy, Kung Fu guy, and other demeaning characters.
While his considerable acting talent brought him notoriety in Korea, it was his accent and the shape of his eyes that he’s hired for in Hollywood. Even his well-intentioned (Caucasian) friends tease him about his ethnicity.
This film shows what a couple of days in Josiah's life are like as he struggles to try and fit in to an industry that never looks much beyond the outer shell to the person inside.

What if the U.S. government released a 'public service film' to teach Americans today how to be good citizens?
'We're the Government -- and You're Not' is a satire of just such a film. It's a satire of just how the federal government expects its 'loyal subjects' to behave. If you'll obey these simple rules, you'll be a good, patriotic American citizen -- as far as the feds are concerned.
